In 1998 the City of
Edinburgh council
felt unable to afford the maintenance of the bowling green and tennis
courts at 84 Newbattle Terrace. Some local residents and
regular
users became concerned that the facility would be lost to the
community. The falcon Bowling and Tennis Club was formed and
a 30
year lease was granted by the Council.
Since the Club's formation, substantial investment has been made in the
professional refubishment of the bowling green and the tennis courts.
In addition, a small boule terrain has been established and
it is hoped this will be popular!
